On Inside PR 2.56, we do the first of two shows recapping recent conferences we’ve been to including Counselors Academy, BlogWorld NY and Mesh 2011. As I’ve said before, I find tweeting from events is a good way of taking notes.
So here are 10 140-highlights from Counselors. (In many cases, I removed the #CAPRSA hashtag, so they’ll be easier to read):
- RT @forgecomm: Now this is smart! RT @actsofbalance: The value of #CAPRSA is not who you know, but who you will meet! http://t.co/iEraNUG.
- @TPEntrepreneur: Build your biz by letting customers share their own great stories.
- RT @McClennan: When recruiting new talent look for perennials not annuals (via @RogerFriedensen).
- @blah2voila: Define your promise, otherwise it becomes an assumed promise with different expectations on both sides.
- @blah2voila: Don’t work with people who won’t treat you with respect.
- @actsofbalance: Tough talks make a difference because they address core issues.
- @jaybaer: Goal is not to be good at social media, but to be good at biz using social media.
- If you suck, twitter is not your problem – @jaybaer.
- @jaybaer: Help first, sell second. You need to earn the right to engage.
- @jaybaer: Social media should be a skill, not a job.
And one final RT from the 2012 conference chair (me):
Want to help plan the conf? Let me know…RT @CounselorsAcad: Thank you everyone! Hope to see you next year in New Orleans, May 6–8! #CAPRSA
Hope the recap is helpful. Next week, I’ll add my notes for Mesh.
